Jesus is Baptised in the Jordan
Jesus is Baptised in the Jordan

We read that Jesus, beginning his public ministry, identified himself with all of those who were being baptised by John in the River Jordan. That baptism spoke of repentance as a sign of anticipation for the coming of God's Kingdom on earth. Why Jesus accepted this act is both mysterious and wonderful, for it speaks of how fully God enters in to our reality in Jesus so that we might be drawn closer (through believing in Jesus) to the reality of God (see Mark's Gospel, chapter 1, verses 9-11).
