The Bible speaks of the power of light when all around is darkness. Sometimes that light can seem fragile and vulnerable, and we are charged with guarding it so that it might shine on to guide and welcome. Jesus said: "I am the light of the world." (John's Gospel, chapter 8, verse 12).
