The birth of the Church comes as God pours out the Holy Spirit upon the followers of Jesus. They are hiding in Jerusalem at the Jewish Festival of Pentecost. Something like a wild wind and something with the appearance of tongues of fire comes upon them and their fear is transformed into the faith and courage to tell the world that Christ is risen (Acts, chapter 2, verses 1-13).
